Calsea Digestplus mineral block was formulated to be fed in housing, helping to balance the rumen PH against acidic silage. With an optimal pH of 6, bacteria can function effectively. Low pH from certain feeds and feeding systems can cause acidosis, leading to reduced growth and milk yield. Containing 40% Sodium Bicarbonate, the block helps correct deficiencies in winter feed, as well as being highly palatable and enabling cows to eat more silage. To reach peak performance, animals must have a balanced intake of minerals and trace elements - deficiencies can affect welfare and performance. However, since forage alone cannot fully meet livestock's needs, the block is an economical solution, since it can be freely accessed.
